Panhellenic Heroon of National Regeneration

On the hill opposite the Holy Monastery of Agia Lavra rises the most brilliant monument of the Nation, the Panhellenic Hero of National Polygenesis of 1821.

It consists of three statues that symbolize the participation of the Clergy and the Fighters in the revolution, as well as the freedom of the Greek nation from the Turkish conqueror. The monument was erected on 25/3/1971, after 70 years of efforts. Every year, events are held there to celebrate the national anniversary of March 25th.
